This is our first year using XYZ and we are extremely happy with everything they have provided. Before the term started we met with the team to discuss and map out the curriculum to ensure there was clear coverage and progression across the school. Their staff are extremely knowledgeable and supportive and they have written a comprehensive curriculum that challenges all students and provides them with the opportunity to try new enriching experiences.
Lessons are engaging and hands-on! New resources we ordered as a school are being used and the children love having a go with real instruments. Our school staff are very well supported and confidence levels of staff have improved greatly since XYZ has been coming in.

We were in search of a music provider who could support our music curriculum and provide staff with the resources to teach a breadth of coverage. XYZ Music was recommended to us by another school. Duncan was very thorough when explaining the curriculum and it was evident, from the beginning, that XYZ Music staff have a sound understanding of the primary curriculum and the skill and progression within each strand.
The curriculum overview was adjusted to suit us as a school and to utilise the equipment we had. Where new equipment was required, Duncan identified the most appropriate equipment for our children.
The programme consists of an overview, plans (including teacher notes and activities for children) and video input from professional musicians. This has enabled us as a school to maintain high expectations for music where children have access to high quality teaching and learning. Teachers are also able to utilise these resources to study and become more confident in areas of music they are less familiar with before they deliver the lesson or unit.
We had an INSET training day where the curriculum was shared with staff and we took part in music sessions as the children would.
The children thoroughly enjoy learning the history of music, singing and learning to play new instruments- the ukulele and keyboards are a hit! Thanks to Jess, we also have a diverse music timeline that celebrates a range of musicians through history.
XYZ Music has enabled us to maintain high standards for music education with clear progression and have created a programme that children enjoy learning. We would definitely recommend them as music providers for other schools.
